Laughs and Tears - A Comedy and Gin Collaboration

We’re back proudly supporting the laughs and good times at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2024 as the Official Gin Sponsor.

Our goal is to have you in tears…the good ones!

Festival bars around Melbourne are serving up G&Ts and other fancy and fun gin cocktails to get you in the spirit from 27 March – 21 April 2024.

Rhys Nicholson has even collaborated with us to make their very own The Rhys Nicholson Gin Company Dry Gin to serve up at Comedy Republic throughout the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

It’s the final week of the festival, and we’ve had a great time thus far. If you want to see some of the best in the business perform their comedy shows, you should get your bums into gear!

Some of our top picks for the festival include:

Nina Oyama at Comedy Republic
Fern Brady at the Rydges
Nina Conti at The Capitol
Lloyd Langford at Max Watts
Kirsty Webeck at the Westin
Geraldine Hickey at Arts Centre Melbourne
Joel Creasey at Max Watts

And of course, Rhys Nicholson at Melbourne Town Hall following their sold-out run at Comedy Republic.

MGC drinks are available at all these shows and more! Don’t miss out, get your tickets to the Melbourne International Comedy Show.

The Rhys Nicholson Gin Company

The Melbourne Gin Company has collaborated with the iconic comedian Rhys Nicholson to create their dream gin. Smooth, clean and refreshing, with a hint of pink grapefruit and ginger.

Rhys says “Well, my body mass has been mostly premium gin for the better part of two decades, so it feels only right I attach my name to one.”

“Having been a huge (and responsible) consumer of MGC for years, I am borderline hysterical to get to work with them on this little project. We’ve been working with Andrew and the team on this bespoke baby and it’s my dream gin.”

You’ll be able to try Rhys’ gin at Comedy Republic during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2024.

Comedy Republic has even crafted new cocktails like the Rhys-tini and the Sunburned plus classic drinks like the Straight G&T and the LBG&T.

Winner 2022 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Award for Most Outstanding Show, Rhys’ 2024 show, ‘Rhys Nicholson Huge Big Party Congratulations’ is a brand-new, hour-long, stand-up comedy concert. Only a coward wouldn’t attend.

‘This is a genuinely great stand-up comedian at work – in total command of their material and audience – and it’s awe-inspiring to watch.’ ★★★★★ TimeOut
